In Warm Waters

In a desperate need to revaluate who they once were, a young woman and her mother must dive beneath the surface to find a new form of hope. Hiking around the island of Sylt is a year-old tradition for Charlotte (28) and her mother, Marion (50). A tradition that by now illustrates how much the two have changed: As a diagnosis threatens their relationship as they know it, the women head back to the island; back to where their old patterns remain familiar. However, what first resembles nostalgia, is soon revolted by their own ideas of who they are for one another – and who they have to be from now on. When Charlotte confronts her mother with a newfound fear of the ocean, she opens a rift between the two that has never been there before.
